 the National Cash Register company\, Edward Deeds\, made the decision to h
 ire to Joseph R. Desch\, to create an electronics laboratory to aid in the
  manufacturing process of cash registers. By 1941 this electronics laborat
 ory was fulfilling contracts for the National Defense Research Committee (
 NDRC). Soon they were tapped by the Federal government to help in decoding
  German codes and breaking the Enigma machine.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>This documen
