In a tribute to Arbor Day\, photographers Diane Cook and Len Jenshel will speak about their book\, Wise Trees. \;Their project documents over 50 remarkable trees across 5 conti nents\, trees that have witnessed great moments in history\, survived cata strophic events\, and nurtured spiritual connections. \; Along with th eir stunning photographs\, Cook and Jenshel will speak to the extraordinar y stories these trees have to tell.
\nAt a time when the planet is l osing 40 million trees a day\, Wise Trees seeks to reconnect humanity with the enduring roles trees play in sustaining life on Earth. \; &ldquo\ ;Trees can live without us\, but we cannot live without them\,&rdquo\; say Cook and Jenshel. At this moment in time\, when we are at a tipping point regarding climate change\, Wise Trees makes an important stateme nt about the crucial role that trees play in supporting life across the pl anet.
\nMs. Cook and Mr. Jenshel will conclude their presentation wi th a brief preview of their new project on American Forests. \;After the talk\, there will be a book signing.

BIOGRAPHY
D iane Cook and Len Jenshel are two of America's foremost landscape photogra phers\, exploring beauty\, boundary\, environment\, and the control of nat ure for nearly 50 years. \;They were married in 1983\, and began coll aborating in 1991.
\nIn the fine arts\, they have received numerous fellowships including the prestigious John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fello wship\, the National Endowment for the Arts\, and grants from the Graham F oundation\, three from the New York State Council on the Arts\, the Design Trust for Public Space\, and two grants from the National Geographic Soci ety.
\nThey have published many books of their photographs. Their mo nographs include Travels in the American West (Smithsonian\, 1992 )\, HOT SPOTS: America&rsquo\;s Volcanic Landscape (Bulfinch Pres s\, 1996)\, Aquarium (Aperture\, 2003)\, and their latest book\, Wise Trees (Abrams\, 2017).
\nTheir photographs have been e xhibited internationally in one-person shows at the Yokohama Museum in Tok yo\, the Art Institute of Chicago\, and the International Center of Photog raphy in New York City\, to name a few. Their photographs are represented in over one hundred museums and major collections worldwide.
\nIn th e magazine world\, their work has been published in numerous domestic and international publications. \; They have been contributing photographe rs at National Geographic Magazine for almost twenty years. \ ; Their work has been featured in such publications as The New Yorker\ , Harpers\, The New York Times Magazine\, Washington Post Magazine\, Audub on\, Fortune\, Bloomberg\, Forbes\, National Geographic Traveler\, Conde N ast Traveler\, Travel &\; Leisure\, Sophisticated Traveler\, GEO\, Depa rtures\, Esquire\, and many others. \;
\nWhen they are not on the road\, Len and Diane reside in New York City.
