In this workshop we&rsquo\;ll explore Assi stive Technology by Hacking into a Toy and re-wiring it to make it Switch Accessible. \; The best part is every Toy we Hack will be donated to t he community after we&rsquo\;re done.
\nAccording to Statistics Cana da\, 80% of people living with a disability use an assistive device to inc rease their independence\, and 27% need at least one more. Cost is often c ited as the main barrier.
\nOur guiding vision at Neil Squire is to achieve economic and social inclusiveness for all people with disabilities . To support this vision\, \;Makers Making Change \;leverages the capacity of communi ty based Makers\, Disability Professionals and Volunteers to develop and d eliver affordable Open Source Assistive Technologies. \; \;
\n< p>Makers Making Change supports STEM education through an assistive techno logy lens.
