 to Statistics Canada\, 80% of people living with a disability use an assis
 tive device to increase their independence\, and 27% need at least one mor
 e. Cost is often cited as the main barrier.</p>\n<p>Our guiding vision at 
 Neil Squire is to achieve economic and social inclusiveness for all people
  with disabilities. To support this vision\, <a href="https://www.makersma
 kingchange.com/s/">Makers Making Change</a> leverages the capacity of comm
 unity based Makers\, Disability Professionals and Volunteers to develop an
 d deliver affordable Open Source Assistive Technologies.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;</p>
 \n<p>Makers Making Change supports STEM education through an assistive tec
 hnology lens. Our workshops encourage students to tackle real-world challe
 nges as Maker Volunteers and to empathize with people with disabilities.&n
