 as a plant explorer. As a landscape design&nbsp\;consultant\, he blends ar
 t\, ecology\, and cultural geography in the creation and conservation of l
 ivable landscapes.&nbsp\;Rick is an award-winning author of nine books\, c
 o-authoring two of them with Piet Oudolf (<em>Gardens of the High&nbsp\;Li
 ne</em>) and Doug Tallamy (<em>The Living Landscape: Designing for Beauty 
 and Biodiversity in the Home Garden</em>).&nbsp\;Two of his books\, <em>Th
 e American Woodland Garden</em> and the <em>Encyclopedia of Grasses for Li
 vable Landscapes</em> won&nbsp\;the American Horticultural Society&rsquo\;
 s Book Award.<br /><br />Whether Rick is teaching students at the Universi
 ty of Delaware or speaking to a garden club\, he challenges and&nbsp\;enga
 ges his audience. He deeply cares for plants and the gardeners who love th
 em and is committed to sharing&nbsp\;his vast knowledge to cultivate livab
