 n<p><span style="text-decoration: underline\;">Susan Weiss</span></p>\n<p>
 With 35 years of experience at Florida International University in North M
 iami\, Susan Weiss served as a reference librarian\, providing general ass
 istance to library patrons. Her interest in local Miami and South Florida 
 led her to collect and organize local documents for the FIU North Miami li
 brary. In 1996\, her book "Miami Bibliography" was published by the Histor
 ical Association of Southern Florida (now HistoryMiami). Susan has been ac
 tively involved with the Arch Creek Trust for forty years.</p>\n<p><span s
 tyle="text-decoration: underline\;">Ximena Valdivia</span></p>\n<p>Current
 ly serving as a Cataloging and Metadata Librarian at Florida International
  University (FIU)\, Ximena holds a BS in Library Science from the Metropol
 itan University of Technology in Santiago\, Chile\, and a Master of Arts i
 n Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida. Cu
 rrently pursuing her Masters of Arts in Latin American and Caribbean Studi
 es at FIU\, Ximena is responsible for original and complex copy cataloging
 \, creating metadata to maximize the discovery of digital content\, and pr
 oviding authority control for library materials and collections\, with a s
 pecial focus on Special Collections. She has previously worked with Barry 
 University and the University of Miami in various capacities\, contributin
 g significantly to historical collections.</p>\n<p><strong></strong></p>\n
 <p><strong>About Miami Pioneers and Natives of Dade</strong></p>\n<p>The&n
 bsp\;Miami Pioneers&nbsp\;is Dade County's legacy historical organization\
 , originally founded in 1936 by prominent settlers and business leaders wh
 o arrived in Miami in the pioneer era before the year 1900.&nbsp\;The&nbsp
 \;Natives of Dade&nbsp\;was incorporated in 1986 by a group of local histo
 ry enthusiasts born in Dade County.&nbsp\;The groups merged on July 8\, 20
