Sounds in the Stacks brings music to branc h libraries to engage the community with local musicians and their talents . For ten months out of the year\, there is one concert per month at a dif ferent library within CALS. Each of these concerts takes place in the mids t of the books (stacks)\, in the open for all to enjoy. The intimate setti ng of the library affords the opportunity for the artist to have conversat ions with the patrons in attendance. They will share their feelings about pieces of music that they have chosen to play as well as their own origina l compositions.
