 o score to Sergei Eisenstein's famous silent movie\, "Battleship Potemkin.
 " The theme of this film &mdash\; often considered one of the most ingenio
 us productions in all of film history &mdash\; is the people's rebellion i
 n the Russian Revolution of 1905. Jarrett's partially improvised and parti
 ally composed score underlines Sergei Eisenstein's anti-militaristic messa
 ge.</p>\n<p>Jazz\, classical\, avant-garde and ethnic styles merge stunnin
 gly in the music of pianist and composer Chris Jarrett. His music is vital
  and impulsive\, full of breaks and surprises and rarely fits into the usu
 al categories. For Chris Jarrett\, Frank Zappa is an equally valuable mode
 l as the masters of the Baroque or the Renaissance. His repertoire ranges 
 from atonal miniatures to sonatas\, film scores\, ballet\, and opera.</p>\
