Executive Director of the Center for Democ ratic and Environmental Rights\, Mari Margil\, will present on the rights of nature\, including her work on Ecuador's Constitution and on policies a round the world. Today's environmental laws treat nature as existing for h uman use\, promoting the exploitation of nature over its protection\, whic h has led to climate change and other environmental crises. The rights of nature movement is working to change humankind's relationship with the nat ural world - recognizing that we are dependent on and part of nature - and protecting the rights of nature to exist\, flourish\, and regenerate.
