 three-day&nbsp\;Africana Arts &amp\; Humanities Festival&nbsp\;from 7:30 t
 o 10:00 p.m. on&nbsp\;Friday\,&nbsp\;March 22.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>This year&rs
 quo\;s festival is &ldquo\;Rootedness: A Retrospective on 50 Years of Blac
 k Literature and Culture.&rdquo\; In line with the theme\, attendees are e
 ncouraged to pay tribute to the fashion&nbsp\;of the disco era. <strong>Yo
 u must be 21 yrs or older to attend this&nbsp\;event.</strong></p>\n<p>As 
 a part of the<a href="https://broward.libnet.info/event/9882120" target="_
 blank" rel="noopener"> Africana Arts &amp\; Humanities Festival</a>\, this
  year's reception\, "Destination Roots\," will feature DJ Tillery James sp
 inning funk\, soul\, and disco hits from the 1970s. Catering by <a href="h

  American Research Library and Cultural Center&nbsp\;</strong><br /><a hre
 f="https://www.broward.org/Library/Pages/BranchDetails.aspx?branchInfo=1" 
 target="_blank" rel="noopener">The&nbsp\;Broward County African American R
 esearch Library and Cultural Center&nbsp\;(AARLCC)</a>&nbsp\;is located in
  the Sistrunk community\, one of the oldest historically Black communities
  named for one of Fort Lauderdale&rsquo\;s first Black physicians. Opening
  to the public on October 26\, 2002\, AARLCC became the third public libra
 ry of its kind in the United States dedicated to the study of Black histor
 y and culture. The 60\,000 square-foot Center serves as a repository of ma
 terials related to the local\, national\, and international voices of the 
 African diaspora with more than 85\,000 books\, manuscripts\, artifacts\, 
 framed art\, print\, photography\, audiovisual\, and documents held in our
  Adult Services Section and Special Collections. The Youth Services Sectio
 n features a special collection of Coretta Scott King Award books and the&
 nbsp\;Ashley Bryan Art Collection&nbsp\;from illustrators of African Desce
 nt. AARLCC also features a 5\,000 sq. ft. museum\, a 300-seat state-of-the
 -art theatre\, and a Computer Training Center.</p>\n<p></p>\n<p><img src="
