Ascension Parish Library in Gonzales hosts a six-week reading and discussion series on the historical perspectives o f Russia and Ukraine. This series offers the reading public an opportunity to examine this long and turbulent relationship between the two nations.< /p>\n

Dr. Karl Roider\, Alumni Professor Emeritus of Louisiana State Uni versity\, will lead six sessions with open discussions supported by the te xt\, Bloodlands: Europe Between Hitler and Stalin by Timothy Snyd er. Bloodlands is an authoritative and imaginative book which tel ls the grim story of the greatest human demographic tragedy in European hi story with exemplary clarity.
