 cipants to explore new areas and help prepare them for more strenuous hike
 s. Experienced hikers will assist with reading topographical maps\, identi
 fying local flora and fauna\, and the proper essentials needed for every h
 ike. Participants will be entered into a random drawing for a gift card fr
 om a recreational equipment store (REI\, Backcountry\, and Sierra Trading 
 Post).&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>Due to the nature of this program\, it might not be 
 suitable for everyone. Although some trails will have paved walking paths\
 , these hikes will take place on dirt and gravel trails with minor ascents
  and descents. Participants will have to fill out a waiver to verify that
