 experiential practice\, participants will learn about the psychological an
 d physiological effects of intergenerational trauma and discover holistic 
 approaches to healing and resilience. This program explores the historical
  trauma experienced by African Americans as a result of the Middle Passage
 \, enslavement\, and the enduring legacy of systemic racism.</p>\n<p><stro
 ng>This program consists of the following components:</strong></p>\n<p><st
 rong>Historical Context:</strong> Participants are provided an overview of
  the Transatlantic Slave Trade\, highlighting the psychological and emotio
 nal toll of forced migration\, enslavement\, and the erasing of much of Af
 rican cultural heritage.</p>\n<p><strong>Intergenerational Trauma:</strong
 > Delving into the concept of intergenerational trauma\, a line is drawn f
 rom the initial trauma of the Middle Passage to the continued experiencing
  of racial injustice and how it is passed down and compounded from generat
 ion to generation.</p>\n<p><strong>Healing Practices:</strong> Participant
 s are introduced to the beneï¬ts of deep breathing and the therapeutic
  use of singing bowls and harmonic sound to inspire mindfulness. A discuss
 ion on how these practices can help regulate the nervous system\, reduce s
 tress\, and promote emotional healing gives participants practical stress 
 reducing tools they can use in everyday life.</p>\n<p><strong>Experiential
  Session:</strong> Participants experience a soothing sound bath.</p>\n<ta

 a multi discipline artist from Fort Lauderdale who was educated in Broward
  Counties performing arts schools where she studied theater\, dance and mu
 sic. She is a graduate of the University of Florida&rsquo\;s College of Jo
 urnalism and Communication where she also continued to study voice.</p>\n<
 p>Ms. Daaj continues to share her passion for music with her students and 
 as a Sound Bath practitioner playing the Crystal Singing Bowls offering re

 earch Library and Cultural Center&nbsp\;</strong><br />The&nbsp\;<a href="
 https://www.broward.org/Library/Pages/BranchDetails.aspx?branchInfo=1" tar
 get="_blank" rel="noopener">Broward County African American Research Libra
 ry and Cultural Center&nbsp\;(AARLCC)</a>&nbsp\;is located in the Sistrunk
  community\, one of the oldest historically Black communities named for on
 e of Fort Lauderdale&rsquo\;s first Black physicians. Opening to the publi
 c on October 26\, 2002\, AARLCC became the third public library of its kin
 d in the United States dedicated to the study of Black history and culture
 . The 60\,000 square-foot Center serves as a repository of materials relat
 ed to the local\, national\, and international voices of the African diasp
 ora with more than 85\,000 books\, manuscripts\, artifacts\, framed art\, 
 print\, photography\, audiovisual\, and documents held in our Adult Servic
 es Section and Special Collections. The Youth Services Section features a 
 special collection of Coretta Scott King Award books and the&nbsp\;Ashley 
 Bryan Art Collection&nbsp\;from illustrators of African Descent. AARLCC al
 so features a 5\,000 sq. ft. museum\, a 300-seat state-of-the-art theatre\
