An exhibit featuring the work of Kimberly Heise. Heise's watercolors depict the native flora and fauna found in Flor ida. Her colorful and vibrant depiction of native plants and animals remin ds us of the natural wonders found in our State\, and the need to protect them.

\n

Growing up in South Florida I fell in love with nature but was alarmed at the fast rate of habitat de struction in my area and state-wide. Art became a way for me to feel conne cted with the natural world\, as well as a way for me to share my love for these native species with others. I practiced drawing and acrylic paintin g as a child\, then oil painting and traditional printmaking during my BFA in Painting at FAU\; graduating in 2016. After an injury shortly after gr aduating I took up watercolor painting\, learning via online classes\, and have been using the medium ever since. In 2016 my subject matter became f ocused on local native plants and animals\, which I continue today. \;
