Join us for a panel discussion with Stephe n and Jackie Martin\, descendants of Morris Murray\, one of the men arrest ed on August 21\, 1939\, just for trying to read. This year marks the 85th Anniversary of the historic civil rights protest\, and the Alexandria Lib rary will be hosting educational programs and events throughout 2024 to ho nor its Legacy of Courage.

Celebrated local musician and educator Vaughn Ambrose will perform at the program.

Refreshments will be s erved. Registration is encouraged\, but not required. Seating is limited a nd on a first-come first-served basis\, but overflow seating will be avail able to view the live stream.
