 alking at school.</p>\n<p>In this moving true story\, Kao Kalia Yang share
 s her experiences as a young Hmong refugee navigating life at home and at 
 school. Having seen the poor treatment her parents received when making th
 eir best efforts at speaking English\, she no longer speaks at school. Kal
 ia feels as though a rock has become lodged in her throat\, and it grows h
 eavier each day. Although the narrative is somber\, it is also infused wit
 h moments of beauty\, love\, and hope.</p>\n<p>Nkauj Hmoob Spokane Hmong D
 ance group will also be performing to welcome our guests. <em>The Rock in 
 My Throat</em> books will be sold at 10% discount (or optional donation to
  ACL Spokane) during the event from Auntie's Bookstore. Book signing oppor
 tunity will start at 7pm.</p>\n<p>By attending library programs\, you are
