He has worked in Georgia and Alabama as a reporter\, area news and sports editor for several newspa pers\, and as a radio news broadcaster\, as well as performing extensive p ublic relations work. His journalism career spans 50 years. Randy was a yo ung reporter with The Valley Times-News in Lanett\, Alabama\, whe n he had the good fortune of covering the Braves on Opening Night of 1974\ , when his hero\, Henry Aaron\, became baseball&rsquo\;s all-time home run king. 715 at 50 is his fourth book.
