Asyia Gover's upcoming book\, East Side Solitude\, was developed largely from journal e ntries and a practice of recording thoughts and observations on significan t dates. \nThis is one of eleven poetry events occurring at the first ann ual Inland Northwest Poetry Salon.
\nThis first-annual\, day-long ev ent at the Liberty Park Library will feature panels\, poetry workshops and a bevy of local writers. The Inland NW Poetry Salon celebrates the craft of poetry\, spotlights regional poets\, and welcomes participants in all p hases of their writing lives.
\nAbout the presenter: Asyia Gover is a writer\, artist\, educator\, and mediator. Her poetry has appeared in th e multimedia collection \;SEXT \;and anthology zines such as Love and Outrage. She has written and co-directed three stage plays for youth p erformers. She and her feline familiar\, Cora\, have recently returned to their hometown of Spokane after ten years in the Seattle area.
