 nize the universe? Questions like these will drive us as we dive into this
  persona-based workshop\, writing from the voices of animals and objects t
 o discover the power of voice in poetry. We'll read notable persona-based 
 poems as a group before launching into our own experiments.</p>\n<p>This i
 s one of eleven poetry events occurring at the first annual Inland Northwe
 st Poetry Salon on June 1st.</p>\n<p>This first-annual\, day-long event at
  the Liberty Park Library (402 S. Pittsburg Street) will feature panels\, 
 poetry workshops and a bevy of local writers. The Inland NW Poetry Salon c
 elebrates the craft of poetry\, spotlights regional poets\, and welcomes p
 articipants in all phases of their writing lives.</p>\n<p>About the presen
 ter: Mark L. Anderson lives and writes in Spokane\, Washington. He co-foun
 ded the popular Broken Mic poetry open mic and has traveled across the Uni
 ted States performing at open mics\, poetry slams\, taverns\, coffee shops
 \, and libraries. He has received a GAP award from Washington Artist Trust
  and was named the inaugural Ken Warfel Fellow by Bellingham's Poetrynight
  in 2012. From 2017 to 2019 he served as Spokane's poet laureate. His firs
 t book of poems\, Scarecrow Oracle\, was published by Korrektiv Press in 2
 022.</p>\n<p>By attending library programs\, you are agreeing to potential
