In honor of Asian \;Pacific \;Amer ican \;Heritage \;Month\, we will read Watercress/ Be rros \;by Andrea Wang. This book \;tells the story of a young girl who's embarrassed about gathering watercress from a roadside ditch. She learns to appreciate her Chinese heritage after learning why the plant is so important to her parents. Copies of the book will be distributed at the start \;of the book club and available for checkout afterwards.&n bsp\; We will share our thoughts about the story over conchas\, chocolate\ , and other snacks. Refreshments \;were generously donated by the Frie nds of the Sorensen Library.
