Dr. Rhonda Mattox will share with us advic e on finding calm in the chaos from her extensive career as a psychiatrist and Hollywood consultant.
\nRhonda Mattox\, MD is the President of the Arkansas Medical\, Dental\, and Pharmaceutical Association and the fir st psychiatrist to serve in that role in its 130-year history. She is an i ntegrative behavioral health psychiatrist and consultant to federally qual ified health centers and juvenile detention centers. Prior to that\, Dr. M attox was an Associate Professor with dual appointments in the Family Medi cine and Psychiatry Departments at the University of Arkansas Medical Scie nces. While teaching at University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA)\, she began assisting New York and Hollywood's award-winning writers and executi ve producers (from 90210\; ER\; Brothers and Sisters and other popular sit coms) in the development of accurate\, non-stigmatizing portrayals of ment al illness within Hollywood's story lines. She continues to consult with H ollywood studios as a content expert on their portrayals of characters wit h mental illness in films and sitcoms.
