 e 2022-23 season\, Ilya Yakushev performed as piano soloist with Meridian 
 Symphony\, San Luis Obispo Symphony\, St. Petersburg Philharmonic\, Dubuqu
 e Symphony\, Las Vegas Philharmonic and Fort Wayne Philharmonic in additio
 n to over 40 recitals in North America and Mexico.</p>\n<p>Highlights of Y
 akushev&rsquo\;s 2023-24 season include return appearances with the San Lu
 is Obispo Symphony\, St. Petersburg Philharmonic\, and Glacier Symphony\, 
 as well as a performance with the Panama City Symphony.</p>\n<p>In Februar
 y 2014\, British label Nimbus Records published &ldquo\;Prokofiev Sonatas 
 Vol. 1&rdquo\; CD. American Record Guide wrote &ldquo\;Yakushev is one of 
 the very best young pianists before the public today\, and it doesn&rsquo\
 ;t seem to matter what repertoire he plays &ndash\; it is all of the highe
 st caliber&rdquo\;. Volume 2 was published in January 2017\, as well as an
  all-Russian repertoire CD in September 2017.</p>\n<p>In past seasons\, he
  has performed in various prestigious venues worldwide\, including Glinka 
 Philharmonic Hall (St. Petersburg)\, Victoria Hall (Singapore)\, Weill Rec
 ital Hall at Carnegie Hall (New York)\, Davies Symphony Hall (San Francisc
 o)\, and Sejong Performing Arts Center (Seoul\, Korea). His performances w
 ith orchestra include those with the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra\, St. Pet
 ersburg Philharmonic\, San Francisco Symphony\, BBC Concert Orchestra\, Bo
 ston Pops\, Rochester Philharmonic\, Utah Symphony\, and many others.</p>\
 n<p>Winner of the 2005 World Piano Competition which took place in Cincinn
 ati\, OH\, Mr. Yakushev received his first award at age 12\, as a prizewin
 ner of the Young Artists Concerto Competition in his native St. Petersburg
 . In 1997\, he received the Mayor of St. Petersburg&rsquo\;s Young Talents
  award\, and in both 1997 and 1998\, he won First Prize at the Donostia Hi
 ria International Piano Competition in San Sebastian\, Spain. In 1998\, he
  received a national honor\, The Award for Excellence in Performance\, pre
 sented to him by the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation in Mosc
 ow. Most recently\, Mr. Yakushev became a recipient of the prestigious Gaw
 on International Music Society&rsquo\;s Award in Seoul\, Korea.</p>\n<p>Mr
 . Yakushev attended the Rimsky-Korsakov College of Music in his native St.
  Petersburg\, Russia\, and subsequently came to New York City to attend Ma
 nnes College of Music where he studied with legendary pianist Vladimir Fel
 tsman.</p>\n<p>Ilya Yakushev is a Yamaha artist.</p>\n<p>Cuban-American ce
 llist Tommy Mesa has established himself as one of the most charismatic\, 
 innovative\, and engaging performers of his generation. The recipient of t
 he Sphinx Organization&rsquo\;s 2023 Medal of Excellence\, its highest hon
 or\, Mesa has appeared as soloist at the Supreme Court of the United State
 s on four occasions and with major orchestras including the Los Angeles Ph
 ilharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl\, The Cleveland Orchestra\, The Philadelp
 hia Orchestra\, and the symphony orchestras of Indianapolis\, Madison\, Ne
 w Jersey\, San Antonio\, and Santa Barbara\, among others. Mesa gave the w
 orld premiere and subsequent tour of Jessie Montgomery&rsquo\;s cello conc
 erto in the 2022-23 season\, with performances at major halls across the U
 nited States and Brazil including Miami&rsquo\;s New World Center and Carn
 egie Hall. His orchestral recording debut of the work was released in July
  2023 on Deutsche Grammophon.<br />Orchestral highlights of the 2023-24 se
 ason include an extensive performance tour of Cuba and performance debuts 
 with the Calgary and Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestras\; the Ann Arbor\, 
 Bay Atlantic\, Columbus\, Greenwich\, Gulf Coast\, Knoxville\, Quad City\,
  Reading\, Waterbury Symphony Orchestras\; and Boston&rsquo\;s Pro Arte Ch
 amber Orchestra. Mesa returns to the Indianapolis Symphony as cocurator an
 d featured performer for their chamber music series this season\, premiere
 s a new work by composer Andrea Casarrubios to kick off the new season at 
 Bargemusic in New York\, and will be featured in solo recitals with pianis
 t Ilya Yakushev throughout the country including Jamestown (Rhode Island)\
 , Laguna Woods\, and Sarasota. Past performance features include recitals 
 at The Academy of Arts and Letters\, Bay Chamber Concerts\, University of 
 Miami&rsquo\;s Signature Series\, Columbia University\, Flagler Museum\, T
 he Heifetz Institute\, California Center for the Arts\, Meadowmount School
  of Music\, Strad for Lunch Series\, International Beethoven Project\, Per
 lman Music Program Alumni Recital\, and major universities across the Unit
 ed States.<br />This season celebrates several new recording releases and 
 subsequent tours\, including albums with pianist Michelle Cann and with ba
 ndoneonist/composer JP Jofre. In the spring of 2023\, Mesa was featured in
  an exclusive artist showcase on NYC&rsquo\;s classical station WQXR that 
 included selections of his upcoming album of world-premiere recordings by 
 Black and Latinx composers with Cann. He also has an album release schedul
 ed with pianist Olga Kern in 2024 and with The Crossing Choir in 2025.</p>
