Shemika Renee is a histor ical interpreter\, as well as an award-nominated and winning actress (WATC H Award nominee 2015 and First Qtr Winner Enginuity Film Festival 2017) an d an award-winning makeup artist (WATCH Awards 2013 and Clifton Film Celeb ration 2017). After serving in the Air Force for 5 1/2 years\, this former officer decided to pursue her dreams of being on stage.
\nIn additi on to being the Outreach Specialist at The National Colonial Farm in Accok eek\, MD\, bringing to life the story of Cate Sharper\, an enslaved woman in the 18th century\, and advocating for telling the truth about our natio n&rsquo\;s history. She also travels to schools throughout Maryland\, brin ging more famous historical figures to life. \; Previously\, she worke d with Sotterley in &ldquo\;The Choice\,&rdquo\; and in February 2020\, sh e portrayed Harriet Tubman at The Capitol Building in honor of Harriet Tub man Day\, sponsored by Vice President Kamala Harris. In 2019\, she wrote a nd starred in her own one-woman show\, &ldquo\;Ms. Story&rsquo\;s Living H istory&rdquo\;. \;
