Silvia Mesa was born in Barquisimeto\, Venezuela on March 9th\, 1970. She lived with her Cuban parents Antonio and Lourdes Balestena and her sibling s until 1989 when the family and her two Pekinese dogs decided to move to Miami\, Florida seeking a better life. In 1995\, she got married to Miguel Mesa and had two children\, Cristina and Carlos. Ms. Mesa graduated from FIU in 1998 with a bachelor&rsquo\;s degree in business administration. &n bsp\;In 2017\, she became a therapy dog handler and teamed up with her Gol den Retrievers Prada\, Charlie Brown and Lalique. She loved so much her wo rk as a therapy dog team that she received a certification from Oakland Un iversity in Human-Animal Intervention. After six years working as a volunt eer in libraries with her therapy dog\, Charlie Brown\, in January of 2023 \, she obtained a certification from Adventure in Wisdom\, a program that helps kids with their mindset skills. Ms. Mesa is currently living in Miam i\, Florida with her husband Miguel\, her adult kids\, her two golden retr ievers Charlie Brown and Lalique\, her indoor cat Oliver and her feathery kids Nina\, a yellow amazon parrot and Cuchi. Needless to say\, she is a b ig animal lover. Walking with Prada is her first book.
