Have you wanted to grow your own beautiful flowers and fresh produce\, but don't know where to start? Join us for a series of gardening programs this summer\, for beginners just like you!&nb sp\; Even seasoned gardeners will learn some nontraditional gardening tech niques to save time\, money and energy.
\nAll programs will begin wi th an informative session in Annex Room A\, followed by hands-on demonstra tion and work outside in the Main Library Community Garden (located betwee n the Main Library and Annex building).

\nWe'll tal k about garden dreaming and planning\, what grows in Ohio's Zone 6\, where to find seeds\, and how to start them!
\nWednesday\, June 2 6\, 4 to 6pm - Garden Maintenance
\nKeeping up with a jungl y garden is the hardest part! \; We'll talk about mulching\, pests\, w eeds\, fertilizing/amending\, tying and training plants on trellises\, and ways to protect your plants from the heat.
\nWednesday\, Ju ly 31\, 4 to 6pm - Maximizing the Harvest (without canning!)
\ nIt's nearly impossible to use your harvest as it comes in. \; We'l l talk about preservation methods other than canning\; how to make your ow n spices\, oils and tinctures\; fridge pickling\; seed-saving\; and what t o do with all those zucchini!
