 eers (including those who have never written before!) are invited to parti
 cipate in a generative writing session with local novelist and Writing Edu
 cation Specialist Sharma Shields. We&rsquo\;ll find inspiration in some ve
 ry short stories (aka flash fiction) and then\, using prompts\, write shor
 t stories of our own. There will be an opportunity to share some of our pe
 nned work aloud at the end of the event (if desired).</p>\n<p>About the pr
 esenter: Sharma Shields is the award-winning author of two novels\, The Ca
 ssandra and The Sasquatch Hunter's Almanac\, and a short story collection\
 , Favorite Monster. Her short stories and essays have been published in su
 ch venues as The New York Times\, Slate\, Slice\, The Kenyon Review\, the 
 Iowa Review\, and elsewhere. She is the Writing Education Specialist for S
 pokane Public Library.</p>\n<p>By attending library programs\, you are agr
 eeing to potentially appear in photos/videos taken at our locations that m
 ay be used in promotional materials including social media.</p>\n<p>We str
