Judy Costello\, Education Manager at the S hiloh Museum of Ozark History\, will demonstrate cooking in Dutch ovens an d over an open fire. She will make a selection of foods including a baked item\, such as bread or pizza\, a roasted item such as a meat and/or veget able\, and a dessert such as cookies or cobbler. Actual menu items will va ry depending on availability of ingredients\, cooking vessels and space ar ound the fire. \; Samples will be available.
\nJudy grew up lear ning and living Southern history through her family&rsquo\;s exploration o f Civil War battlefields\, swimming holes\, potential duck-hunting sites\, and old cemeteries where ancestors were buried. Her education includes de grees in agricultural engineering from Auburn University and LSU. She move d to Fayetteville in the 1980s with her husband who is a professor at the University of Arkansas. She invested many years homeschooling her three ch ildren\, all of whom are now UA graduates. Over twenty years ago\, in the process of seeking hands-on learning opportunities for her students\, she discovered the educational gem that is the Shiloh Museum. Interests includ e outdoor activities\, working with children\, and learning new things.&nb sp\;
