X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p><strong>Michael Shaeffer's "Getaway Car"</
strong></p>\n<p>The day my mother brought home her brand new 1985 RED Niss
an Sentra\, my childhood changed. Three weekends out of every month\, from
the time I was 6 to 13 years old\, were spent in that car. Traveling up t
he coast to Massachusetts\, across to Pennsylvania\, or the many long trip
s to Sunny Florida &ndash\; this vehicle my mother purchased was far more
than just a way to get around Long Island. This Nissan represented freedom
\, a freedom I don't think she felt as often as she dreamed of.</p>\n<p>Af
ter my mother's passing earlier this year\, these trips began to float thr
ough my mind more often than not. I wanted to memorialize\, to make someth
ing &ndash\; something alive with these feelings. Getaway Car is a way of
revisiting these wild moments and the places we shared.</p>\n<p><strong>Ar
tist Bio</strong></p>\n<p>Originally from Long Island\, New York\, Michael
Shaeffer relocated to Arkansas in the mid-90s. After finishing High Schoo
l\, Shaeffer found himself back home in New York where he attended the Sch
ool Of Visual Arts in Manhattan and focused on illustration. This is where
the current style of his work began to form. Stylized portraits confront
the idea of personal identity and social status within American culture.&n
bsp\; Shaeffer currently resides in Little Rock Arkansas.&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>S
haeffer&rsquo\;s work has been featured in a great deal of group and solo
exhibitions in Arkansas as well as New York and Kansas City over the past
few years. His work on paper and canvas as well as his apparel line and ac
cessory line (House of Shaeffer) can be found in a great number of private
collections. He has been represented by M2 Gallery since 2018.</p>\nhttps
