If you've ever wondered where mystery auth ors get their ideas and whether their characters are based on real people\ , now's your chance to find out! Beloved local writers Chris Bieker (of the Rex Begonia mystery se ries) and Elena Hartwell Tayl or (of the Sheriff Bet Rivers and Eddie Shoes mystery series) will dis cuss their writing process and read short sections from their work. There will be an opportunity for an audience Q&\;A\, as well. \;
\nAbout the Authors:
\nBorn and raised in the beautif ul Pacific Northwest\, Chris Bieker developed a passion for the outdoors. She left her journalism path to st udy natural resources\, only to return to communications while working for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Now retired\, she pursues her zeal fo r writing\, reading\, gardening and hiking. She enjoys reading a captivati ng mystery story or humorous fiction. Staying true to her roots\, she cont inues to live and write in the Northwest. Murder at Manito was he r first book in the Rex Begonia mystery series\, followed by Blood on Bloomsday and High Stakes at Hoopfest.
\nElena Taylor spent several years worki ng in theater as a playwright\, director\, designer\, and educator before turning her storytelling skills to fiction. Her first series\, the Edd ie Shoes Mysteries\, written under the name Elena Hartwell\, introduc ed a quirky mother/daughter crime fighting duo. With All We Buried\, Elena returns to her dramatic roots and brings readers a much more ser ious and atmospheric novel. Located in her beloved Washington State\, Elen a uses her connection to the environment to produce a forbidding story of small town secrets and things that won&rsquo\;t stay buried.
