Celebrate the release of EDISON the debut novel from Pallavi Sharma Dixit. The evening will begin with light appetizers\, foll owed by an author talk and signing. Books will be available for purchase a t the event.
\nPublished on June 4 by Third State Books\, EDISON \; is&nbs p\;a love story brimming with song and dance\, action and comedy\, a love& nbsp\;triangle\, an angry parent\, an evil villain\, and cameos by real Bo llywood stars. Along the \;way\, we glean bits of Indian film history and fall in love with an improbable cast of \;characters who inhabit E dison\, the eponymous New Jersey \;township known as &ldquo\;Little In dia.&rdquo\;
\nPallavi Sharma Dixit was born in India and raised in New Jersey. \;She was a winner of the Asian American Writers&rsquo\; W orkshop&rsquo\;s \;Pages in Progress Prize for EDISON\, her debut novel. Her wor k \;has been supported by the First Pages Prize\, the Jerome Hill Arti st \;Fellowship Program\, Intermedia Arts\, the Minnesota State Arts&n bsp\;Board\, the Loft Literary Center\, and the Jerome Foundation Travel&n bsp\;and Study Program. She holds an MFA in creative writing from the \;University of Massachusetts\, Amherst. &ldquo\;I was inspired by my love of Bollywood films and the \;unique community of Edison\, where I spe nt my youth and still have deep connections."
