 <p>~Francis Bacon\, Essays (1625)&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>This exhibition is a hist
orical exploration of the book as art in Miami and the artists who use it
to express themselves to show Miami in a different light from the 1980s to
today. Along with works on view from artists such as Margarita Cano\, Tom
  Virgin\, and Purvis Young\, among others\, <em>Cover to Cover</em> will a
lso survey the organizations responsible for printing and publishing artis
 ts' books today.</p>\n<p>Using artists&rsquo\; books\, zines\, and archiva
l materials from the Miami-Dade Public Library System&rsquo\;s Permanent A
rt Collection and Vasari Project archive\, this exhibit continues the Libr
ary&rsquo\;s history of celebrating book arts and artists through exhibiti
 ons\, education\, and programming.</p>\n<p><strong>This exhibition was mad
e possible through generous funding from the John S. and James L. Knight F

 >About the Vasari Project:</strong></p>\n<p>The Vasari Project is a librar
y collection at Main Library dedicated to documenting\, collecting\, and p
reserving Miami-Dade County's art history from 1945 to the present. It is
a living archive that grows through contributions from artists\, art profe
 ssionals\, exhibition spaces\, galleries\, institutions\, and private&nbsp
\;donors.</p>\n<p>The Vasari Project is a resource for ongoing research\,
 scholarship\, publications\, artists' projects\, exhibitions\, and events.
The archive collects documentation rather than original works of art comp
osed primarily of printed matter: correspondence\, press clippings\, photo
 graphs\, posters\, books\, exhibition catalogs\, artists' files\, oral his
tories\, and other ephemeral&nbsp\;materials.</p>\n<p><strong>About the Di
