DC Public Library is currently in the desi gn process for a fully funded new library in Congress Heights with the des ign-build team Perkins + Will Architects and Turner Construction. The new full-service\, 20\,000-square-foot plus library will be built next to the Congress Heights Metro Station at 1290 Alabama Ave SE. This library will r eplace the store-front Parklands-Turner Library\, located at 1547 Alabama Ave. SE.
\nAt the Virtual Design Reveal Meeting\, you will have a ch ance to get a first look at how the input gathered through surveys and com munity meetings has shaped the initial designs of this new library. You wi ll also have a chance to give direct feedback to the design-build team so you can see how the design of the Congress Heights Library is continually evolving to serve you. If you cannot make this virtual meeting\, a second\, in-person Congress Heights Design Reveal Gallery and Meeting will be held on Wednesday\, July 17 at Sycamore &\; Oak starting at 3 p.m. followed by official rem arks at 6 p.m. and a free concert by beloved Go-Go legends Junkyard Band. The first 200 participants to tour the design gallery between 3 - 6 p.m. a nd provide feedback to the design-build team will receive a $15 voucher to spend on food and drinks at Sycamore &\; Oak. \;
