The weather may be hot\, but the history i s freezing! Join historian Greg Ca ggiano for a look at Ernest Shackleton's ill-fated Imperial Trans-Anta rctic Expedition of 1914. It is one of the greatest and most harrowing sto ries of survival and courage in the history of exploration. Learn the back ground information of the voyage\, what \;went wrong\, and how he and his crew refused to quit even when shipwrecked in total isolation at the b ottom of the world. This lecture was first offered in 2022\, in commemorat ion of the recent discovery of Shackleton's long-lost ship\, the \;End urance. Greg received the Invitational Lecture Grant Award from the Friend s of Lifelong Learning for this presentation at Brookdale Community Colleg e.
