  bestseller and earned widespread acclaim for its candid exploration of ra

 nd "Jackpot\," have continued to captivate readers with their authentic ch
 aracters and timely storytelling.</p>\n<p>In her lectures\, Stone draws fr
 om the themes in her books while stressing the need for equity\, accountab
 ility\, and empowerment in reshaping our society. She urges that &ldquo\;w
 e must deconstruct the world as it is if we are to build a better one.&rdq
 uo\; Her presentations speak to the relationship between the importance of
  human connection through a lens of storytelling and the necessary work of
  racial and social justice.</p>\n<p>A fierce advocate for reading freedoms
  in public education\, Stone has had her books banned in various parts of 
 the country. Nevertheless\, she champions the rights of readers to pick up
  any book they choose and for authors to tell their authentic stories with
 out fear of censorship.</p>\n<p>Nic Stone was born and raised in a suburb 
 of Atlanta\, GA\, and the only thing she loves more than an adventure is a
  good story about one. After graduating from Spelman College\, she worked 
 extensively in teen mentoring and lived in Israel for a few years before r
 eturning to the US to write full-time. Growing up with a wide range of cul
 tures\, religions\, and backgrounds\, Stone strives to bring these diverse
  voices and stories to her work.</p>\n<p>Pearl&rsquo\;s Books will be on-s
 ite to sell books\, and a signing will follow the presentation.</p>\n<p>Tr

 ille Public Schools\, Fayetteville Public Education Foundation\, and Unive
