This madcap farce stars the king of the do uble-take\, Edward Everett Horton\, as a henpecked husband who is desperat ely trying to close a contract to please his boss. When his wife\, played by the equally adept Laura La Plante\, is unable to attend an all-importan t business dinner he hires a woman to play her. But she turns out to be ma rried to an insanely jealous boxer!
\nA silent film has no synchroni zed recorded sound or dialogue. Words are conveyed through stylized gestur es\, pantomime and title cards. Technology for synchronized dialogue was o nly made practical in the late 1920s. By 1930 "talkies" became more and mo re commonplace. Popular production of silent films ceased shortly thereaft er.
