 ed States. She retired from the practice of urology after 35 years to trav
 el and write. She was challenged by her mentor\, Dr. Norman McSwain to mem
 orialize the great Charity Hospital in her novels. <em>Mother Charity</em>
  is her third book and the sequel to <em>The Big Free.</em> She is also th
 e author of the nonfiction book\, <em>The Unfettered Urologist.</em></p>\n
