X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:<p>Samuel Langdon Clemens&mdash\;Mark Twain&m
dash\;wrote in a distinctly American voice\, rich in humor\, gently critiq
uing hypocrisy\, and richly descriptive of place and dialect. Twain penned
much of his literary output in a small\, wooden frame\, octagonal study b
uilt in 1874 by his sister-in-law\, Susan Crane\, at her dairy farm outsid
e of Elmira\, New York. Archaeological field schools at Elmira College doc
umented the location of Twain&rsquo\;s study and other aspects of Crane&rs
quo\;s dairy farm in 1987 and 1988. This illustrated presentation revisits
this long-forgotten project.</p>\n<p>This presentation will be held live
over Zoom. It will also be recorded and uploaded to the St. Mary's County
Library YouTube channel.</p>\n<p>If you would like to attend this event li

ording will be emailed to everyone who registers for this program.</p>\nht
