Artist Carol Prusa intertwines art\, scien ce and engineering to create symbolically charged work responding to limin al locations\, using graphite pours and silverpoint drawing in a dance bet ween the known and unknown\, offering insight into the mystery of our exis tence while embracing the magnitude of the universe with the lawlessness o f imagination to distill the sacred. As Einstein stated\, &ldquo\;The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious. It is the source of a ll true art and science.&rdquo\; This talk will discuss the Harvard Comput ers\, women who radically informed us of our place and provided the founda tion to how we understand our universe\, expressed through art. As well\, the materials and methods needed to engineer this work\, including the wor k resulting from witnessing three total solar eclipses.

\nCarol Prusa is known for her meticulous silverpoint techn ique combined with contemporary strategies. In the 2015 catalogue essay fo r the National Gallery exhibition Drawing in Silver and Gold: Leonardo to Jasper Johns\, Weber called Carol Prusa &ldquo\;one of the most innovative artists working in metalpoint today.&rdquo\; Her work is included in exce llent public and private collections\, including the Perez Art Museum (Mia mi)\, The Museum of Arts and Design (NYC)\, Telfair Art Museum (Savannah)\ , the Hunter Museum of American Art (Chattanooga) and the Francie Bishop G ood and David Horvitz Collection. Prusa is represented by Bluerider Galler y &ndash\;Taipei/London/Shanghai\, and Bernice Steinbaum - Miami\, Florida \, among others. Prusa had a solo exhibition at the Boca Museum in 2019 an d exhibited in the 2015 Invitational Exhibition of Visual Arts\, American Academy of Arts and Letters (NYC)\, invited by Judy Pfaff and awarded a pu rchase prize. She did a three-month fully funded residency at the prestigi ous Kohler Artist in Industry among other artist residencies\, including t he Golden Foundation. Currently she \;has an exhibition\, &ldquo\;Stra nge Attractors&rdquo\; in Shanghai\, China and is in the 2024 Florida.&nbs p\;
