The outcome of the 2024 presidential elect ion will determine the course of U.S. foreign policy for the next four yea rs &ndash\; and possibly beyond.
\nA Harris victory would see the co ntinuation of President Biden&rsquo\;s commitment to American global leade rship\, cooperation with other countries on critical issues like climate c hange\, closer ties with the U.S.&rsquo\;s democratic allies\, managed com petition with China\, and support for Ukraine in its war against Russia.\n
A Trump victory would accelerate trends from the former president&r squo\;s first term and result in policies favoring &ldquo\;isolationism\,& rdquo\; such as the possible withdrawal of the U.S. from the military comm and of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization\, the Paris Agreement on cli mate change\, and the World Trade Organization. Trump would also compel Uk raine to accept an unfavorable (and unstable) peace with Russia.
\nB oth Harris and Trump would continue U.S. military assistance to Israel\, b ut politically Harris would likely embrace policies supportive of Palestin ian self-determination. \;
