Learn about First Nations perspectives on food systems in the spring from Dylan Henry. He will talk about traditiona l harvesting protocols\, wild foraging of native species\, and early seaso n seed collection for conservation.

Maajiigin Gumig - "Place where plants start to grow"\, is a native plant greenhouse focusing on growing native plants for the Aamjiwnaang community and surrounding Sarnia-Lambton Area. Some initiatives of the greenhouse include native plant rescue and restoration\, seed collection and cleaning\, native plant propagation\, mu lti-generation teaching and learning\, ecology stewardship education\, and reconnecting with the Earth.

One Seed Lambton is a program to enc ourage everyone to grow their own produce and save their own seeds for nex t year's planting. A single seed variety will be announced in May\, and th at seed will be made available in small amounts at no cost. The selected s eed will be easy to grow in back yard gardens or containers. Seeds will be available for all participants to take.
