Family photographs and documents are the t op artifacts that get passed down from generation to generation. Most of t hese artifacts end up in a variety of photograph albums and boxes that are put in garages\, cellars\, attics\, and a variety of other elements that will /or inevitably damage and/or destroy the artifacts that you wish to p reserve. This presentation goes through how to preserve and conserve these materials from the supplies that are needed to the best practices in how to best maintain these items for future generations\, including what to do with photographs in scrapbooks and sticky photograph albums.
\nColl een Pepper is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Arizona that teach es Preservation of Information among other courses. She has been the famil y genealogist\, historian and archivist for both sides of the family for t he last decade.
\nBefore being an Adjunct Professor\, she has been a n educator for middle school and high school students\, worked overseas in the Middle East\, and is a Veteran of the US Army.
\nShe holds a Ba chelor Degree in English\, History and ESL with Certification to teach\, a s well as a Master Degree in Library and Information Science with Archival Certification. She is a member of several organizations including the Ass ociation of Professional Genealogists\, and the Society for American Archi vists.
