Dr. Dé\;sir&rsqu o\;s academic interests include the social\, psychological\, and spiritual adjustment of immigrants\, specifically psycho-social trauma\, and how ps ychosocial issues affect social\, cognitive\, identity\, and spiritual dev elopment. She examines the racial development of immigrant students and ac ademic development\, Pan African Spirituality\, and Black Psychology Quali tative Research. \;
\nDr. Pamela D. Hall is an Associate Profess or of Psychology\, Director of the Africana Studies Program\, and Associat e Dean of Graduate Studies for the College of Arts and Sciences at Barry U niversity in Miami Shores\, Florida. She received her Ph.D. in Social Psyc hology from The Ohio State University. Before arriving at Barry University \, Dr. Hall taught at Hampton University\, her undergraduate alma mater.\n

\nThe&nb sp\;Broward County African American Research Library and Cultural Center&n bsp\;(AARLCC) \;is located in the Sistrunk community\, one of the olde st historically Black communities named for one of Fort Lauderdale&rsquo\; s first Black physicians. Opening to the public on October 26\, 2002\, AAR LCC became the third public library of its kind in the United States dedic ated to the study of Black history and culture. The 60\,000 square-foot Ce nter serves as a repository of materials related to the local\, national\, and international voices of the African diaspora with more than 85\,000 b ooks\, manuscripts\, artifacts\, framed art\, print\, photography\, audiov isual\, and documents held in our Adult Services Section and Special Colle ctions. The Youth Services Section features a special collection of Corett a Scott King Award books and the \;Ashley Bryan Art Collection \;f rom illustrators of African Descent. AARLCC also features a 5\,000 sq. ft. museum\, a 300-seat state-of-the-art theatre\, and a Computer Training Ce nter.
