Before the event\, registered participants will be contacted to send in the poem they want workshopped.
\nDue to limited space\, participants may only sign up for one workshop.
\nAll poets who participate in the workshop will be invited to share their work at a public reading at NOMA on October 9th at 5pm to celebrate the po etic life of New Orleans\, its people\, and its places. \;
\nDan iel Fitzpatrick is the author of the novel \;Only the Lover Sings< /em>. Born in New Orleans\, he studied philosophy at the University of Dal las\, and he holds an MA in philosophy from Holy Apostles College and an M Phil in creative writing from Trinity College Dublin. His translation of t he \;Divine Comedy \;was published in 2021 for the 700th anniversary of Dante Alighieri&rsquo\;s death. His poetry and essays have appeared in places like \;Dappled Things\, \;New Oxford Review \, and \;Ocean State Review. He is the editor of \;< em>Joie de Vivre\, a journal of art\, culture\, and letters for South Louisiana\, and he teaches English at Jesuit High School in New Orleans.< /p>\n
