Join amateur astronomer Ed Mizzi on an unf orgettable exploration of astronomy\, the study of everything in the unive rse beyond our own planet. Ed will describe \;just how tiny the Earth is in relation to other planets\, stars\, and galaxies\, and then display how significant we are to each other and our home planet. You'll also have the chance to check out a telescope and other cool stargazing tools! Ages 9-12.
\nSince Ed Mizzi was a kid\, he 's been obsessed with stars and planets. He loved studying stars so much t hat he joined the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (Hamilton Branch)\, and has served on the Board of Directors and is a Past President. For all his hard work as an amateur astronomer\, he received a Service Medal from the RASC in 2019\, and a minor planet was named after him in 2023! He is a retired teacher.
