DJ Johnny 'Juice' Rosado is a renowned and multi-talented figure in Hip-Hop culture. His diverse skills as a compose r\, producer\, turntablist\, engineer\, musician\, B-boy\, graffiti writer \, MC\, educator\, lecturer\, and mentor have left an indelible mark on th e culture\, earning him an Emmy and NAACP Image Award nomination. Raised i n the Bronx\, Juice was at the heart of hip-hop's birth and progression. I n the late '70s\, he mastered the art of breaking (rocking) and became a t op-tier dancer and mentor to younger talents\, including Busta Rhymes.
\nIn the early '80s\, Juice moved to Long Island\, quickly becoming a k
ey player in the nascent local Hip-Hop scene. His work with Public Enemy\,
Son of Bazerk\, and the Bomb Squad production team are legendary\, cement
ing his place in Hip-Hop history. Over nearly four decades\, he has collab
orated with iconic artists such as Mandrill\, Mavis Staples\, Beastie Boys
\, Slick Rick\, Leaders of the New School\, KRS-One\, DMC\, C+C Music Fact
ory\, X-Vandals\, Billy Joel and Trilogy\, showcasing the breadth and dept
h of his influence.
Juice's work on ESPN's "Ali Rap" earned him an Em
my nomination for Outstanding Music Composition.
Currently his foc us has shifted towards film and TV scoring. He recently received three NAA CP Image Award nominations\, including Best Album for the soundtrack of "O n The Shoulders of Giants\," proving his enduring relevance in a constantl y evolving industry.
\nAs the Global Vice President of The Bronx Boy s Rocking Crew\, the first Latino breaking (dance) crew\, and pioneers of floor rocking since 1975\, Juice continues to inspire and shape the next g eneration of Hip-Hop enthusiasts. His contributions were recently recogniz ed with his induction into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame as a member of Public Enemy in 2008\, and again in 2013 with induction into the Rock a nd Roll Hall of Fame.
