 lackwood is the&nbsp\;pen name of series creator Jasmine Richards\, and a 
 team of young and upcoming writers\, including Chiemeka Nicely and Isaac H
 amilton-Mckenzie. Jasmine and the team are passionate about exploring myth
 ologies from the African diaspora and giving every kid the opportunity to 
 be the hero of the tale.</p>\n<p>Jasmine Richards was born in London\, gre
 w up in a library\, and was the first in her family to go to university. A
 fter graduating from&nbsp\;Oxford\, and following a brief stint at New Sco
 tland Yard\, Jasmine chose a career in publishing over being the next Sher
 lock Holmes. Today\, she is the founder of&nbsp\;Storymix\, a children&rsq
 uo\;s fiction development studio that creates inclusive stories and nurtur
 es voices from under-represented backgrounds in children&rsquo\;s books. S
 he is also the author of <em>Keeper of Myths</em>\, <em>Secrets of Valhall
 a</em>\, and <em>The Book of Wonders</em>. She lives in the Cotswolds regi
