  the #1 <em>New York Times</em> bestselling author of the <em>Front Desk</
 em> series\, <em>Finally Heard</em>\, <em>Finally Seen</em>\, <em>New From
  Here</em>\, and the young adult novels <em>Parachutes</em> and <em>Privat
 e Label</em>. <em>Front Desk</em> was awarded the Asian/Pacific American A
 ward for Literature and Parents' Choice Gold Medal in 2019\, was the 2019 
 Global Read Aloud selection\, and was named a Best Book of the Year by mul
 tiple publications\, including Kirkus Reviews\, the School Library Journal
