 <p>Dr. Jamitta Covington is a resident of Virginia Beach. She is married t
 o Nashan and has a three-year old son\, Nashan Jr. &ldquo\;NJ.&rdquo\; She
 's worked in the mental health profession for over 10 years servicing chil
 dren\,&nbsp\;adults\,&nbsp\;and families. Jamitta is a licensed clinical s
 ocial worker (LCSW) in Virginia and recently obtained a doctorate of socia
 l work in family studies and interventions from Walden University. As a yo
 uth she was involved in making a difference in the community through outre
 ach ministries. In 2017\, she founded&nbsp\;my 501 &copy\;3 B.E.I.N.G (Bui
 lding\, Educating\, Inspiring\, Nurturing\, and Guiding) You\, Inc. B.E.I.
 N.G. You is a community-based mentoring program to help youth build confid
 ence and critical skills to thrive in life. The program offers numerous se
 rvices including one-on-one mentoring\, group mentoring\, community servic
 e projects\, annual community events\, workshops\, and guest speaking. As 
 a mentor\, Jamitta takes pride in providing support\, guidance\, and oppor
 tunities for individuals to succeed in life. Through mentorship\, she stri
 ves to create a safe space for individuals to build an emotional bond thro
 ugh mentorship and talk about relevant topics that affect them and togethe
 r identify solutions. She believes in the quote &ldquo\;Be who you needed 
 when you were younger.&rdquo\; Life experiences have shifted her passion t
 o specializing&nbsp\;in&nbsp\; maternal&nbsp\;mental health\, perinatal me
 ntal health\, and grief. Jamitta is a board member for Postpartum Support 
 Virginia where she's able to connect her personal and professional experie
 nces to impact change. Her doctoral capstone focused on ways to support ch
 ildren following a parental death\, which has heightened her interest in o
 ffering therapy services to individuals navigating a recent loss.&nbsp\; I
 n her spare time\, Jamitta enjoys spending time with family\, traveling\,

 o specializes in working with caregivers and families. She works with indi
 viduals\, couples\, siblings\, groups and multigenerational families to pr
 ovide support in areas of family roles and communication\, stress reductio
 n\, anxiety\, depression\, grief and addiction. In addition to private pra
 ctice\, she has been an adjunct professor in the Master of Arts in Counsel
 ing program at William Jessup University where she has taught Family Thera
 py and Law and Ethics. She facilitates a weekly parent support group at Pa
 rents Helping Parents (PHP)and has served as a speaker and facilitator at 
 PHP\, Shire House\, Help One Child and other community and faith-based car
 egiver support groups. She is a facilitator for SibShops. Currently\, Laur
 aBeth is a board member of Prime Plus and a member of the Norfolk Rotary a
 nd the Downtown Circle of Children&rsquo\;s Hospital of the Kings Daughter
 s. She is a past Board Chair of Via Services\, a private\, independent non
 profit organization dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities and
  special needs achieve greater self-sufficiency and lead richer lives. She
  is also a past chair of the Mary Baldwin Advisory Board of Visitors\; pas
 t president of the Cambrian Park Kiwanis in San Jose\, California\; and pa
 st board member of the Junior League of San Jose. LauraBeth is a graduate 
 of Mary Baldwin University and holds a masters in Marital and Family Thera
 py from Western Seminary. She holds a Doctorate of Psychology (PsyD) from

 sa deeply understands grief and loss\, drawing from personal and professio
 nal experiences to support patients and families during their most challen
 ging times. She employs a compassionate and empathetic approach\, helping 
 individuals navigate their emotions to find solace and hope amidst their g
 rief. She has a holistic approach\, promoting health\, wellness\, and heal
 ing in her community\, her family\, and her peer group\, and most especial
 ly in her mentoring of women. She ensures that each person in her charge r
 eceives individual personalized attention and investment. Education\, empo
 werment\, empathy\, and a commitment to excellence are the cornerstones of

 r\, especially of music and the stage. She finds great peace in nature and
