\nInvisible Prisons is a collaboration wi th writer Lisa Moore and Jack Whalen\, who\, as a child\, was held for fou r years at a reform school for boys in St John&rsquo\;s\, Newfoundland\, w here he suffered abuses and deprivations. He managed to turn his life arou nd and became a husband and father. His daughter\, Brittany\, vowed at a y oung age to become a lawyer to seek justice for him. Today\, Jack's case i s part of a lawsuit currently before the courts.
\nLisa Moore is the author of the novels Caught\, February\, and Alliga tor\, \; \;the story collections Open \;and Something for Everyone\; and the young adult novel Flannery. Her books have won the Commonwealth Writers&rsquo\; Prize and CBC&rsquo\; s Canada Reads\, been finalists for the Writers&rsquo\; Trust Fiction Priz e and the Scotiabank Giller Prize and been longlisted for the Man Booker P rize (February). Moore is also the co-librettist\, along with Lau ra Kaminsky\, of the opera February\, based on her novel of the s ame name. She lives in St. John&rsquo\;s\, Newfoundland.
\nSusan G. Cole is a writer\, editor and activist. She is the author of two books on violence against women\, Pornography and the Sex Crisis and P ower Surge: Sex\, Violence and Pornography \;and is the editor of Outspoken\, scenes and monologues from Canadian lesbian plays. H er play\, the comedy A Fertile Imagination\, about two lesbians t rying to have a baby\, was nominated for two Dora Awards in Toronto. The f ormer books editor at NOW Magazine lives in Toronto with her partner and i s also a grandmother of two.
