 talented makers at the first-ever Maker Faire cosplay contest! This contes
 t is open to all makers. Whether you&rsquo\;re new to the scene or a seaso
 ned cosplayer\, this is your chance to show off some of your best work and
  connect with fellow enthusiasts. In traditional Maker Faire spirit\, the 
 emphasis for this competition is on creativity\, craftsmanship\, and story
 telling.&nbsp\;</p>\n<hr />\n<p><strong>How to Register:</strong><br />Reg
 istration is free! Complete your registration before 10:30 AM on September
  7. Online registration is encouraged\, though onsite entries will be acce
 pted at the Maker Faire Welcome Desks located in front of the Event Center
  and Center for Innovation.</p>\n<p><strong>Contest Details:<br /></strong
 >Each contestant will have approximately 60 seconds on stage. Costumes can
  be original characters or inspired by history\, literature\, comics\, mov
 ies\, television\, video games\, and more. Prizes will be awarded to the t
 op performers!</p>\n<p>The contest is open to all ages. <strong>Contestant
 s under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present.<br /><br />Judgin
 g Criteria:</strong><br />Performance: Stage proficiency and ability to ac
 t in character.<br />Craftsmanship: Costume appearance\, complexity\, crea
 tivity\, and movement.<br />Storytelling: Accuracy to the original charact
 er&rsquo\;s costume and story or originality and interpretation.</p>\n<p><
 strong>Important Rules:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Costumes must be tasteful 
 and family-friendly.</li>\n<li>No real weapons or prop guns.</li>\n<li>No 
 projectiles\, live animals (except service animals)\, or loud audio device
 s.</li>\n<li>No jumping off the stage or use of flames\, fireworks\, smoke
 \, or lasers.</li>\n<li>Contestants must adhere to all library safety and

 >conduct guidelines</a>.</li>\n<li>By participating\, you agree that any p
 hotos or videos taken may be used for promotional purposes.</li>\n</ul>\n<
